| I've been back to work for almost two months now. Leaving the boys in the mornings are hard, especially when they're both so happy and smiley! Carter has been having separation anxiety when I leave for work these past two weeks since getting a cold. I wanted to begin an Easter tradition this year but Albert had to travel for work. Easter was still a blast though. We went to the Barksdale's home and Carter played so hard with all the other kids and Dandy. Here's a great video: http://youtu.be/vDepRgfNlq0
Carter is still into Transformers and robots. He's memorized the small Transformers book pretty easily. He also points out yellow cars on the road and shouts out "bumblebee!" He's also able tocount to 20 now. Carter is still loving his brother but likes to sit in Holden's bumbo. He's transitioned to the big bed now pretty easily. Grandma lies down with him during naptime but I don't do that and he takes his nap easily. My mother-in-law still hasn't successfully potty trained him yet though. I think she's fairly disappointed and genuinely thought she would be done after a week! He has discovered he doesn't like the feeling of a dirty diaper anymore though. The bad part about that is he'll poop in the diaper and then just take his diaper off, quite clumsily, and leave it lying around. Ugh.
Holden is sitting in bumbo now and rolls over pretty quickly. He can also pitch himself forward and face plants. He's also very interactive now and loves to have people around. He's smiling every time you make eye contact with him and just smile at him.

| Holden is 4 months old now and happier than ever. He's super smiley and loves to laugh out loud with you. If you start laughing then he will too! This past week he has also been reaching very well with his right hand for toys dangling in front of him. He's also been trying to suck on his right thumb. I brought him to the women’s retreat and he did awesome as he got passed around. We hadn't seen grandma for 3 weeks though and he cried when he saw her. Morning naps are great but afternoon naps (#3 and 4) are 45 minutes only. He had two nights of 10 hrs of sleep but then I got sick and he regressed. Since I'm going back to work tomorrow, we had to do a bit of bottle bootcamp with Grandma. He can drink about 6 oz. from the bottle. Holden weighs in at 15 lbs a couple of weeks ago.
Carter had a wonderful, or rather THREE wonderful birthday celebrations. It began Friday on his actual birthday with a cupcake with mommy and daddy. Then Saturday with grandma, goo-goo and Joshua gu-gu with cheesecake and lots of balloons. And the last one on Sunday with our missional community where we also celebrated with Dandy and Eric. The next day he kept singing "Happy Birthday to you!"
Carter's behavior has regressed to being a baby! He complains about hurting and needs hugs every 2 minutes! He also won’t walk down the stairs without holding my hand. He's still very sweet to Holden. Once he freaked out when he saw Holden got taken away by some friends and wasn’t with us. Carter has gotten used to all the people we have over and likes to say goodnight to friends after getting into his jammies. We spent the last month moving him back to his crib from our bed and has been pretty successful so far though he still wakes up about every other night. We bought a big boy bed and put it in his room so he can get used to it. I'm waiting for grandma to potty train him when I'm back at work.

| Carter will turn two years old on Friday! It's been such a fun and joy filled ride so far watching him grow and his personality blossom. He used to be so mellow but now that he can speak, it's non stop all day. He knows a third of trhe alphabet now and says random numbers he learned from Sesame Street. It goes like this: 1, 2, 5 7, 9, 12 14. I should start him on colors next. His energy level continues to increase as he gets older. He literally needs to just run around and kick balls aimlessly to expend it! Holden is much more mellow now that I've figured out his optimal waketime and he doesn't get overtired. He's smiling so much now and this week he's laughing! He's just content to just sit in the bouncer and is often so quiet I forget about him sometimes! He still hates the carseat and riding in the car though and will scream on and off the entire trip. We're still doing 60 minutes of waketime. He continues to be a good napper but always stirs at 45 minutes. 75% of the time he goes back to sleep. Otherwise I move him to the swing.

| Another month has past, wow that was fast! We hosted the HC's Christmas party at our home. It turned out much better than we expected and Carter had so much fun running around with all the other children! We got to roll out the cute rug Ruth & Matt got for his playroom. I need to take a good picture of it and update here.
Carter is much more social now, he likes to play with older children but still needs to learn how to share with children his age. We're going to a weekly playdate with children younger and older than him so I hope that helps. I was super excited to decorate our Christmas tree with Carter, even had the camcorder all set up and waited for Albert to come home from a business trip but Carter wasn't all that excited after the first 5 ornaments. Opening presents were another story though.
Holden is smiling now and a bit less gassy. There was one night of a five hour stretch between feedings but it didn't repeat. I've finally figured out his optimal waketime is 60 minutes but naps are touch and go wtih the 45 minute intruder. Sometimes he'll go back to sleep and sometimes I need to put him in the swing.
Progress on the house: we brought over my piano I haven't touched in 15 years! That's it for now, no additional furniture. KJ helped put the child proof hooks on the kitchen cabinet doors. Carter is sooo confused that the doors won't open anymore.
